The #1 reason people over the age of 65 consult with a doctor is for dizziness, and 40% of people over the age of forty have reported having trouble with dizziness. Rehab Associates can help by offering a special form of Physical Therapy to those who suffer from vertigo and dizziness.
In 1999, Mary Wallman, PT and her staff opened the first Certified Vestibular Practice in the Central VA region. Since then, she and her staff have had a long standing and proven track record of successfully treating patients. Over the years, Mary has grown the Vestibular Program to include a unique combination of Vestibular Therapy, the NeuroCom Balance System, and the use of the SoloStep in the Fall Prevention Programs. This COMPLETE program of Vestibular Care ensures the best possible outcome for patients. With such a high success rate it is not surprising that RACV is the Vestibular Therapy Practice that both patients and physicians trust.RACV_Dizziness_Fall_Prevention.pdf (1439 downloads)
Therapists specializing in Vestibular Therapy:
Fall Risk & Prevention Programs are used to complete the Vestibular Program and retrain the patient to achieve full function and stability. These Programs have been successful for geriatric patients and those who have become debilitated due to a disease or accident.
The Fall Risk & Prevention Program includes the SoloStep Harness System that prevents falls while challenging the patient’s balance. The patient responds more quickly to treatment when put in the SoloStep, because their fear of falling is taken away.
